ABOUT
The start of my research began by briefly looking into the given examples of salt, soil, water, food and oil. I wrote down some first ideas and quickly stuck to the topic of water.

My initial research was pretty broad. I, for instance looked at pollution in sea water, water drainage systems and purifying ditch water.

I had a bit of trouble starting a bigger research on one of these topics because I wanted to work with something easily applicable and a bit more within my field of interest where I would be able to add a sense of personal style.

The next thing I did was make a list of all the different kinds of water I could think of and look for ones that I was going to be able to experiment with.

Rainwater was the next topic I was going to do more in depth research on, as I would be able to experiment with this at home. But after starting the research, I found there wasn't really more to it than watering your plants with rainwater and flushing your toilet with it. I wanted to see if I could design an innovative self watering balcony plant set, but for executing this idea I lacked both time and material.

Reminding myself of the core of this assignment, looking for an approach to the challenge rather than a solution, I decided to simply show adjustments to live in such a way that minimizes the impact on the growing demand for clean water.

I wanted to stick to actuality and made these adjustments all take place in a home setting to make people aware of how easily habits can be adapted, even while being in quarantaine.

I listed different topics which I could look into for instance, grocery shopping, hygiene, kitchen related actions and nursing plants. Looking around my own daily actions at home which had something to do with water.
